Artist Philippe Million's multi-coloured tree stands proud on the forecourt of the Châteaucreux train station. Its metallic trunk stretches, as though reaching for the sun, out into branches covered in leaves of coloured plexiglass.
Only the artist knows what kind of tree this is: is it a maple, is it a plane tree...? What is certain is that it's timeless, and playful, with its foliage of blues, reds, yellows and greens.
The kind of tree that makes you want to stop, to pause for a moment of contemplation.
If you take the time to look at it carefully, you might even see birds flying in to rest on its branches!
