The Véloire
Along the Loire River
The Véloire is the cycling route of the Loire department, its backbone. Located in an area of high environmental sensitivity (banks of the Loire, hedgerows) and heritage, the route crosses the department from Iguerande in Saône-et-Loire to Montrond-les-Bains. The Véloire will be extended in the long term by the creation of a path as close as possible to the Loire River, which will initially take cycle tourists to the outskirts of the city of Saint-Etienne, and then, in a second phase, will allow them to connect with the ViaRhôna.
