This building, located in the heart of Saint-Etienne’s “design” district, is not just an architectural curiosity.
Saint-Etienne is the only one in France to have been designated by Unesco as a “Creative City for Design.” It permeates the entire city, starting with the Manufacture d’Armes, which became the Cité du Design in 2006. In addition to frequent exhibitions and the Biennial, it hosts a renowned school of art and design. Hence the many works (statues, fountains, installations…) to be discovered during “out of frame” strolls.
